After-Hours Care Options
It’s after clinic hours and you need medical care. Faith Regional Physician Services has a few options for you depending on the type of care you need and what works best for you, all provided by a local FRPS provider.
Emergency Care vs. Urgent Care
Many serious health concerns that may seem like an emergency can be just as easily treated at FRPS Urgent Care, and at a much lower cost. Knowing the difference between a medical emergency and something that needs quick treatment in an urgent care setting is key to saving money, your time and keeping the emergency room free to perform life-saving procedures.
When to Visit the Emergency Room
You should call 9-1-1 or go directly to the emergency room for life-threatening emergencies.
Reasons to visit the emergency room can include, but are not limited to:
- Severe Chest Pain or Pressure
- Sudden or Severe Pain
- Vaginal Bleeding During Pregnancy
- Shortness of Breath or Difficulty Breathing
- Uncontrolled, Severe Bleeding
- Coughing and Vomiting Blood
- Dizziness or Blindness
- Slurred Speech or Confused Mental State
When to Visit Urgent Care
FRPS Urgent Care can handle non-life-threatening medical issues and also costs significantly less than emergency room care.
It may be appropriate to visit an urgent care if you or someone is experiencing:
- Animal Bites (that are not toxic or severe)
- Bladder Infections
- Coughing
- Sore Throats
- Ear Infections
- Sprains, Strains, or other Minor Injuries
- Cold and Flu
- Sinus Problems
- Minor Fevers
- Rashes
