Hidden Scar Breast Cancer Surgery

No visible reminder of your surgery, cancer or risk of cancer.

Hidden Scar Breast Cancer Surgery is an advanced approach to removing breast cancer. We want youbreast oncology surgeon performing surgery to know all of your breast cancer surgery options so you can feel informed and empowered in your surgical decision. Our breast surgical oncologist and our plastic and reconstructive surgeon have training in Hidden Scar surgical techniques. Together, their goal is to give you the best surgical treatment and experience.

Our surgeons can surgically remove breast cancer with a mastectomy procedure (your surgeon will remove all of your breast tissue) or a lumpectomy procedure (your surgeon will remove only part of your breast tissue). With a Hidden Scar procedure, your surgeon will place the incision in a location that is hard to see so that the scar is not visible when your incision heals. As a result, you have little to no reminder of your surgery or cancer.

The Hidden Scar technique can be performed for a nipple-sparing mastectomy or a lumpectomy procedure. Patients who undergo the Hidden Scar approach do not have a higher risk of cancer recurrence than patients who undergo any other type of technique. You may qualify for Hidden Scar Breast Cancer Surgery based on the size and location of your tumor, your breast shape, and your breast size. Ask us if you’re a candidate by calling Faith Regional Physician Services Breast Care & Plastic Surgery at (402) 844-8167 to schedule a consultation.
