Sinus Surgery

Are you dealing with continuous sinus infections, otherwise known as sinusitis, that medication doesn’t help? Turn to the experienced Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) surgeons at Faith Regional for relief. Dr. Justin Oltman and Dr. Eric Rohe offer several different types of sinus surgery, so you receive a plan unique to you and your issue.

Types of Sinus Surgery

Balloon Sinuplasty: A minimally invasive procedure where your ENT surgeon will insert a small balloon into your sinuses, inflate the balloon to expand your sinus cavity, and then deflate the balloon to take it out. This procedure makes your sinuses larger, allowing mucus to drain.

Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery: The most common type of sinus surgery, your ENT surgeon will use a thin scope with a light on the end to see inside your nose and sinuses. They will then remove any bone or infected tissue in your sinuses to widen the drainage passages so mucus can get out.

Recovery

Most people recover from sinus surgery within a few days and are back to their normal activities. Sinus symptoms may improve right away or take a few weeks before you see noticeable change. Our ENT surgeons will be with you every step of the way to ensure recovery is going well.
