Treatment Options
Our providers work closely with you to determine the best course of action to restore your knee function. Initially, they may start with non-surgical treatment options, such as:
- Injections
- Medications
- Physical Therapy
- RICE: rest, ice, compression, and elevation
If these options do not work for you, our providers may recommend surgery.
Customized, Long-Lasting Surgical Options
Our orthopedic surgeons are dedicated to offering patients safe, customized surgery for your knee. The surgical options we offer include:
ACL Reconstruction: Your surgeon will remove and replace your torn ACL, a ligament in the knee, to help stabilize the joint.
Kneecap Stabilization Procedures: Mostly in young athletes, kneecap dislocations can happen. If extensive damage is done due to this, our surgeons may recommend surgery to prevent kneecap dislocations from continuing to happen and restore your or your child’s knee function.
Knee Replacement: Your surgeon will help you determine if total or partial knee replacement is best for you. During this surgery, Dr. John Lammli or Dr. Jared Rickert will replace your damaged cartilage and bone in the knee joint with artificial implants. They also offer different surgical approaches for your knee replacement and will discuss which ones they think are best for you and your lifestyle.
Knee Revision: If you have already had a knee replacement and are now experiencing pain, swelling, unstableness, or other issues making it hard for you to do your everyday activities again, our surgeons may recommend a total knee replacement revision.
Meniscus Repair: If your meniscus tears, our orthopedic surgeons use minimally invasive surgery to repair the tear and remove any damaged tissue to offer you quick recovery, pain relief, and improved mobility.
